Sheriff of nottingham men in tights11/21/2023 Robin returns to his family home, Loxley Hall, only to find it being repossessed by John's men. Unbeknownst to Richard, the prince is abusing his power. Upon returning to England, he finds Ahchoo and discovers that Prince John (Richard Lewis) has assumed control while King Richard is away fighting in the Crusades. Robin is asked by Asneeze to find his son, Ahchoo (Dave Chappelle). ![]() With the help of fellow inmate Asneeze (Isaac Hayes), who was arrested for jaywalking, he escapes and frees the other inmates. Robin Hood, or Robin of Loxley (Cary Elwes), is captured during the Crusades and is imprisoned at Khalil Prison in Jerusalem. Robin, and the Sheriff in particular, have a fight to the death mentality to achieve their end goals, which for both are protection of the throne for their trusted royal, and the heart and cherry of Maid Marian. The Sheriff has his own eyes on Marian, he who in turn is the object of desire of Latrine, a powerful hag of a sorceress of the court. Marian is looking for the man who has the figurative and literal key to unlock her heart (and private parts). In going to the palace, Robin falls in love at first sight with Marian of Bagelle, a maid of the court. As such, Robin recruits a band of merry men to help him battle Prince John and the Sheriff, they, who include: Blinkin, his blind longtime servant Ahchoo, the misguided son of Asneeze, the man who helped him escape from prison while fighting in the Crusades Little John, who seems to think that being called Little is only coincidental to the fact of he being a hulking man and Little John's friend, Will Scarlet O'Hara, a master with daggers. Neurotic John is basically being controlled by the equally evil Sheriff of Rottingham, everything they do to fatten their own coffers at the expense of the commoners and peasants. Robin finds that much of what he knew of England has gone to ruin, including his longtime family home having been taken away, all at the hands of the evil Prince John, Richard's brother who has assumed the throne in Richard's absence. The name of Robin's alternate wife Clorinda from the circa 1660s ballad Robin Hood's Birth, Breeding, Valor and Marriage, which takes many of its elements from outside the Robin hood tradition, is sometimes used by Marian as an alias.Robin of Locksley, known as the most skilled archer of the land, has just returned to England after fighting in the Holy Crusades, where King Richard the Lionheart is also fighting. She is not said to have left him when he left the king's service and returned to living like an outlaw in the woods. Marian married Robin immediately following his pardon by the King just as she had promised to do while he was living as an outlaw and was widowed many years later when Robin was murdered by his cousin. In several stories where she is said to be of noble birth rather than a sword wielding shepherdess she remains in a castle spying discreetly on Robin's foes instead of joining him in the greenwood. Her most well known act was joining the Merry Men in the forest after disguising herself as a male page and defeating Robin in a duel in during which he was unaware of her identity. When she is portrayed as a noble Richard at the Lee is sometimes her father.Īt what point Marian and Robin met is variable but her oath to marry her love, instead of a man of her family's choosing, is on the condition that he first be pardoned. Sometimes she and Robin knew each other since childhood but other tales have them meet as adults. ![]() Marian was born the daughter of nobility in some ballads but originally she had a more humble origin as a shepherdess. She swore off marrying him until he had gained a King's pardon. ![]() The love interest to Robin of Loxley Marian was an interesting character with a varied past and many versions of her tale, sometimes a sheltered noblewoman but originally a skilled fighter capable defeating her lover at the end of a long sword fight.
